The Canada Summer Jobs program is an initiative started by the Government of Canada that aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help young Canadians develop their skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market. Mech Solutions is excited to announce that this year, our company has been selected to be part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program! Through this program, Mech Solutions is aiming to utilize the unique talents of our respective employees to help bring a positive change to our company.
Hiring Young Talent
While younger employees may not have adequate professional work experience, Mech Solutions believes this is counteracted by the employees’ creativity, ability to think outside of the box and high enthusiasm to learn and innovate! This year, Mech Solutions has hired a talented youth to fulfil our software Developer role.
To foster a positive work experience for our Canada Summer Jobs Program employees, Mech Solutions has also dedicated a unique list of skills for our employees to develop over the course of the program. These skills include:
• Teamwork: refers to the skills needed to interact with other people. At work, our employee will utilize this skill to work with others in pairs and in small and large groups to coordinate tasks, share resources, plan, make decisions, negotiate, solve conflicts, and complete other activities that involve teamwork.
- Communication: ability to articulate thoughts and information with other people effectively. This exchange can happen orally by speaking, listening, and using non-verbal cues, such as body language or in writing. Our employees will utilize these skills at work effective convey their thoughts.
- Digital skills: refers to the skills needed to understand and use digital systems, tools, and applications, and to process digital information. At work, our employees will be mentored by the head of front-end development to utilize this skill to input, access, analyze, organize, and create using software and web applications.
- Leadership: refers to several skills, including communication, relationship building, and the ability to delegate and traits such as honesty. At work, leadership skills are required when working in a team, demonstrating initiative, and taking responsibility for the completion of tasks that require multiple employees.
Mech Solutions hopes by aligning the employee‘s work experience skill development and learning will help enrich their experience at our company. In doing so, we hope to also generate a positive change at Mech Solutions as it can create synergy amongst our employees, improve employee motivation and productivity and overall foster a positive, supportive working environment for all!
